#3 The art of Storytelling/ Mother Tongue Based Multilingual Education

1.      Describe an excellent storyteller

An excellent storyteller must know how to choose a story that appropriate to the level of the learner. Also the pupils will learn many things because of the story you tell. The storyteller needs to make every word alive, she/he can make the audience or listeners feel what the character feel. The storyteller also delivers the word with emotion. The excellent storyteller has a facial expression, gestures, body movement, eye contact, and projection.

2.      Remember that the first step in being a good storyteller is finding the right books. List down at least 10 book titles and authors appropriate for the age bracket you’re handling in practicum.

This is the 10 books I found during my practicum. The age level is 7 to 9 (early grades), it is garde 3.

3.       Assuming that you’re a distance learner facilitator, video record a storytelling demonstration using your own mother tongue for your primary year students. Give motive questions and refer to the module to improve your storytelling skill. Ask 5 co-student teachers to grade you using the rubrics below and leave a comment for your improvement.
